Jyu Horiuchi
1981 Moscow International Ballet Competition Bronze Award. In 1983, won the Lausanne International Ballet Competition, won the Lausanne Award, and studied abroad at the School of American Ballet. After returning to Japan, he performed the Footlights Dancers and Mitsuru Horiuchi Ballet Project, which he formed. Appeared in Matsuyama Ballet Company, New National Theater Ballet Company, Tatsue Sata Ballet Performance, Yoko Hashimoto Ecole de Ballet, Kayoko Nakura Jazz Dance Performance, etc. As a choreographer, he has announced many works. Invited to the United States, France, South America, South Korea, and China, he is active as a ballet dancer and choreographer. Received the 1997 Global Yoko Morishita / Tetsutaro Shimizu Award and the 2013 Dance Critics Association Award. He is a professor at Osaka University of Arts, a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, Tamagawa University, a special lecturer at the Japanese Music High School Ballet Course, a lecturer at the Kyoto Ballet College, and a member of the New National Theater Training Program.
